I think it’s safe to assume that the battle of healthy vs. junk food is a battle in nearly every home, in one form or another.
My personal sweet tooth is kind of above and beyond the norm. However, I deeply care about good nutrition. I was raised in a “natural health” home, and came to an understanding that almost every single health malady can be prevented or exacerbated by what you consume, and it becomes even more prevalent in dealing with behavior issues.
There is such a wealth of information out there, it’s hard to figure out up from down sometimes.
My best advice is, when your kids are babies, hold off as long as humanly possible before you put the first bit of sugar in their mouths. The best way to stay off of sugar is to never start. Unfortunately, very few parents can pull that off.
Don’t get me wrong, my kids eat junk. I’m currently sifting through plans to help cut back on it. They aren’t overweight or suffering any health problems from them (yet), but I feel like it’s too much lately, for all three of us.
